Silkspeed Anklets is a yellow Tool in Hollow Knight: Silksong that increases Hornet’s running speed, drastically improving her Swift Step ancestral ability for a small cost. Despite their apparent usefulness, these items are available very early on in the game, making them a viable pick-up within the first few hours of a playthrough.
Players interested in more efficient exploration and faster combat will want to know exactly where to find the Silkspeed Anklets and the requirements for doing so. Here’s the breakdown.
How to Get Silkspeed Anklets in Silksong
Silkspeed Anklets Location
- Requirements: Needolin, Swift Step
Silkspeed Anklets can be found in Weavenest Cindril, a hidden area on the far east side of Far Fields in Silksong.
Starting from Seamstress’s hut bench, turn right and drop down to the stone platforms. Jump past the updraft and enter the room on the right. Keep heading right until you reach the far end of this chamber.
Hit the smoldering fire pit on the wall to break through to the next room.
Continue heading east past the enemies and the lava, and you’ll reach a Needolin door. Play Hornet’s Needolin to unlock the door and head into Weavenest Cindril.
To the right of the bench are pillars that light up when you run past them.
From the bench, start using Swift Step to sprint past the pillars, making them light up as you run. If you run the full length of the tunnel without stopping once, all light pillars along the way will activate, triggering a pedestal containing the Silkspeed Anklets to rise up from the ground at the far end of the room. Pick up the item and return to the bench to equip it.
How Do Silkspeed Anklets Work in Silksong?
How to Use Silkspeed Anklets
The Silkspeed Anklets consume Silk to increase Hornet’s speed when she is running using Swift Step. The amount of Silk used during this process is very small, but noticeable. This cost can be mitigated by using Weavelight, which increases the rate of Silk regeneration.
As long as you have some Silk on the spool, Hornet will continue to consume it when running with Silkspeed Anklets. There is no way to turn off the effects without unequipping it from your Crest.
Practically, Silkspeed Anklets is very much worth the cost of wearing it. The increase in speed is nearly double what it is without this item, making it incredibly useful at all stages of the game. Better yet, since it is a yellow Tool, it isn’t vying for any competitive red and blue Tool slots, making it easy to fit into most builds.
The increased running speed isn’t useful for exploration alone; it helps with combat as well. Dodging enemy attacks or getting out of tricky AoE field effects is much easier with these equipped than it is without them.
Weavenest Cindril Secret Area
There is a hidden area underneath Weavenest Cindril that can be accessed by running in front of the light pillars while using Silkspeed Anklets and Flea Brew at the same time. Flea Brew can be acquired by completing the Lost Fleas quest for the Flea Caravan in The Marrow.
To do so, equip the Silkspeed Anklets and drink the Flea Brew while standing in front of the bench. Run across the length of the tunnel with both effects active, and a trap door will open up near the pedestal, revealing a secret area. Inside, you will find the Rune Harp, a Pharloom Relic that can be given to Relic Seeker Scrounge in Bellhart for a Rosary reward.
